In addition to the Indigogo campaign video I need to produce, I’m also tasked with produced a 1 minute promo for the Norcal Noisefest.
To my understanding, the promo is going into the advertising block for Trash Film Orgy‘s showing of Re-Animator on July 11th. As luck would have it, I’ve got a wedding to film that same night, so no midnight movie madness for this kid.
Knowing the crowd at Trash Film Orgy, and more or less the sardonic use of archival footage in their promos, I decided to go down that route.
I took to Archive.org to look for anything public domain that had the subject line of noise, sound, anything! I didn’t think I would strike gold in finding an old educational reel regarding when it’s appropriate to be noisy.
Mixed select clips from the reel with footage of previous festivals, and there you have it! Only issue is that ticket sales aren’t available yet, so all the contact info goes to the main website, no problem.
UPDATE: I didn’t go because I was so beat from the wedding, but I was told it was well-received by the audience, even one guy yelled “FUCK YEAH!”. Probably first and only moment I’ll be glad people are yelling obscenities at my videos.
