Seems like my work is never done! In addition to the Indigogo campaign video, the promo, and the two perk videos, this year I also had to take photos of the performers!
Normally photos are taken every year by our talented friend of noise, Ed Goldthorpe. These photos are used used for the recordings hosted on Bandcamp, future promotional items and to the benefit of the performers as well.
He had other obligations that weekend, so I stepped up to bat. This was a good opportunity for me to start building my photography portfolio outside of work.
I had used my own Nikon D5100, plus rent their 70mm lens and the SB700 Speedlite. I’m fairly pleased with how they turned out, and several of the performers shared and used my photos on social media. I’m currently set up as sharealike with attribution, but thinking I should create a watermark for myself as one out-of-town performer decided to put their own name on one of my photos. Yikes.
In the end, with all my hard work, I am now a full-fledged organizer for the Norcal Noisefest. Feels damn good.
Note in the description that some of the photos were taken by Andrew Wayne of Chopstick, as I had to do double-duty with filming of the campaign backers.
